Welcome and Introduction

 

Like our previous series, these sermons come from Chichester Baptist Church.  They are right up to date.

Although Ezekiel lived six hundred years before Christ, there are a lot of parallels between the situation he faced then and our own day.  This six week series will give us much to think about as we try to make sense of “where is God in all the events around the world that fill our television news and our social media?”

 

The service this week is a communion service so if you would like to join with them in this, take a minute or two now to organise some bread and wine or juice.

In this series I have tried to use the same hymns that were used in Chichester before and after the message.  This is their choice of song that led into the message.  Although it has the title ‘Abide with me’ it is not the hymn that you will be thinking of!

Bible Passage and the Message:  The Presence God Establishes

This message is the last in our series in Ezekiel and is from the 23rd of February. 

Following the song we have just listened to, the video starts with Ellen, who introduces Dawn who reads from Ezekiel chapter 47, starting at verse 1.  If you have a Bible or Bible app to hand, please find this passage when you start the video.

Our Own Prayers

As you watched the message today was there a moment when you sensed the Holy Spirit speaking directly to you?  Then tell Jesus about it.  Or maybe you simply had a ‘lightbulb’ moment which you would like to thank God for.

Spend a few moments to thank God for all his goodness to you in the last week.

Spend a few minutes in confession.

Take a few minutes to pray for others who you feel burdened for.  If you have received the Church Email, it will give you some suggestions.

Now spend a few moments praying for the fellowship of the church to which we belong and its witness to friends, family, neighbours, the young and the old, and to the wider world.

Please pray for our “Film Nights at ABC” which started three weeks ago.  During February and March we will show every episode from Series One of “The Chosen”.  Pray that the Holy Spirit will prompt many people to come and watch.  The portrayal of Jesus is so powerful that it is almost impossible not to be affected.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever!
