This series of sermons comes from Chichester Baptist Church and is from September and October this year.

The series title is Lessons in the Life of Moses.  Over a period of five weeks we have looked at key events in his life under the headings: Encounter, Enlist, Everyone, Equip and now today Empower.

Of course, with hindsight, we can see Moses as a giant of faith, but in his own lifetime he felt the same as us – inadequate and unprepared.  So what can we learn?

Song:  Holy, Holy.  Lift up His name

AI-generated content may be incorrect. In this series I have tried to use the same hymns that were used in Chichester before and after the message.  This week the opening song affirms that our God is a Holy God, who was and is and is to come and He is worthy of our praise today.

Bible Passage and the Message:  Empower

This message is the fifth in our series and is from the 28st of September.

If you have a Bible or Bible app to hand, please find Deuteronomy chapter 34  before you start the video.

This week the minister Ellen Wild brings the message.

Click the filmstrip icon below to start watching the YouTube video.  It should start automatically about 42 minutes into the complete service.

I suggest that you stop the video after Ellen has finished  her closing prayer.  We will watch a video of the song that they then sang after our own prayers..

Our Own Prayers

AI-generated content may be incorrect.I realise that I use these words every week to guide your thoughts and I still think they are a helpful summary.

As you watched the message today was there a moment when you sensed the Holy Spirit speaking directly to you?  Then tell Jesus about it.  Or maybe you simply had a ‘lightbulb’ moment which you would like to thank God for.

Spend a few moments to thank God for all his goodness to you in the last week.

Spend a few minutes in confession.

Take a few minutes to pray for others who you feel burdened for.  If you have received the Church email, it will give you some suggestions.

Now spend a few moments praying for the fellowship of the church to which we belong and its witness to friends, family, neighbours, the young and the old, and to the wider world.

Song:  Holy for Ever

Heavenly Father,
Grant us discernment to see Your plan, even when it is not immediately clear.  Your mission in the world is bigger than us.  Guide our steps, and help us to make decisions that are pleasing to You.

Enable us to encourage and release others as we move forward and occupy the land that you have given to us.  Fill us with boldness to move forward in faith and with a heart of obedience, not of unbelief. Equip us with everything good so we may do Your will and live fruitful lives

We pray that You would strengthen our faith and help us to live in the hope and promise of our true promised land. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Amen.
